How do I know that my beeswax is "natural"?

I purchase my beeswax directly from my local beekeeper (Mr R) and his lovely wife, who not only have their own hives and are involved with my local beekeepers association but also teach other people how to become beekeepers. They triple filter my wax for me (which means 3 different ways of filtering are used) then I filter if myself before using it.

Are scents added to my beeswax candles?

Not currently. I love the subtle honey scent of natural beeswax but I understand people asking for a scented version. Beeswax itself isn't particulaly good at holding scents as it burns much hotter than most waxes and therefore burns off the scent when lit. However I have found that a blend of coconut wax and beeswax does much better with scent so that is a possible option for the future.

What is the white dusty powdery substances that some beeswax candles can get?

This is called BLOOM and only happens with 100% natural beeswax. It comes from within the beeswax and can be left alone. It doesnt effect it in any way but if it bothers you then gently buff the beeswax with some old tights or a soft cloth and it comes straight off.

What is used in our Oat milk, Honey & Beeswax soap?

I use a soap base that includes cocoa butter, shea butter and coconut oil. I then make my own Oat Milk using oats (ta darrr) with distilled water, then soaked and squeezed. Shop bought oat milks often have sugars, salt and vitamins added so I don't use those. The honey I use comes from my beekeeper and yes i use the beeswax that I use in my beeswax candles as well. I juts grate it right down to get it to melt.

Which wax do I use in my wax melts?

Currently I use soy wax specifically designed for wax melts. However I am looking into coconut wax and/or rapeseed wax as an alternative. I am working on finding a good blend between our beeswax and coconut wax to allow for melts and maybe candles but that is still in the testing phase.
